First timers on this album may have complaints and probably won't adjust to how they sound for a while. I really really like how the drums sound as well. It's perfect for the album, and you can hear every last hit.

The snare and kick drum are MWAH. Fucking GOOD. Steve's vocals are great as usual, but they sound compressed and slightly buried in the mix, exempt from parts like the chorus in Enshrined By Grace; but still, his vocals are a little underproduced. But honestly, that doesn't matter, I think it sounds good, I was just stating the fact that they're buried, I personally like how everything in this album sounds and I don't have any complaints at all. But at least some of them are fun little bonus-type tracks, like Drum Check , which is the god himself Pete blasting away at his set for almost three minutes straight.

This song from the debut album features some fast, melodic riffing that almost sounds black metal. Some seriously cool and catchy riffing in this one. Probably the most catchy song Morbid Angel has ever written.

Attack the church! Drunken parties aside, the song has incredibly intense riffs and a structure that really takes advantage of the violent tempo shifting. Bands With Self-Titled Songs. 2. Jun 26,  · It's a good album by Morbid Angel, but one that needs remastered badly. Every time I listen to it in my car it is as if it has no bass, and the same happens when I use studio monitors. Track-wise it doesn't have that many traditional songs (around 5 on the album are either just instrumental or instruments with noises over them)/5(36).
  3. Sep 22,  · 3. I'm no sound recording expert or anything, so the production really doesn't bother me all that much. I only notice it when I make a Morbid Angel mix CD, and a song from Heretic comes after one from Gateways. That's when the difference in production hits me. But by itself, Heretic sounds fine. /5(86).
